How to import Outlook Express DBX to Outlook PST?

Hey friends, I am Stephen a Fitness blogger and sharing my technology experience with you. Though I am not a technical guy but once I got stuck in a big technical issue all because of my mom. Actually the thing is that a few days back my mom bought a brand new laptop. She asked me to transfer all the data from our old pc to the new laptop including emails and all. I had copied all the hard drive files including pictures, media files, Excel sheets, word docs and all other files manually with the help of my data traveller.

Now the only thing that was left behind in our old pc was the data of Outlook Express files which contained textual mailing data, attachments, media files, presentations, notes and contact list. I tried to import the old data but I failed.

P.S I tried these steps:

File->Import and Export->and then Outlook Express Files but it did not give me an option to browse to the folder it just said that “There are none to import like it only works if Outlook Express is installed????”

After, spending almost 2 hours of search I found it is because of change of email platform. In our old machine, we used to work on Outlook Express and Outlook Express keeps all the data in DBX file and our new laptop is built with Outlook 2007 and Outlook keeps all user data in PST format.

Here is more about DBX file: Outlook Express which is a basic emailing client of Microsoft uses DBX file format to keep users’ data. Though it is a basic emailing client it offers very limited services as compared to Outlook. Outlook Express is basically designed for the students and home users. On the other hand Outlook is the featured emailing client of Microsoft that comes with a number of smart inbuilt functions such as:
  • To do bar & Ribbon interface
  • Calendar & Meeting Scheduler
  • Group Email
  • Notes & Journals
  • Address book
  • Social Integration
  • Personal manager
  • Multiple Account Handling
  • Exchange Support
  • Outlook Mobile Integration

Below are the few errors associated with Outlook Express which causes pathetic user experience:

Successful Migration from Outlook Express to Outlook:
For dealing with such numerous errors my mom used to try “Basic Outlook Express repair kit” but unfortunately she could not resolve such issues regularly. So she decided to go for a newer Outlook. At the time of migration, I was stuck in a critical situation and did not know “What to do now?” so my mom suggested me to hire a technical expert for solving this issue but I refused. I wanted to save the money for my new fitness blog. I searched more and more about Outlook Express file to Outlook migration on technical forums.

There I found about Stellar DBX to PST Converter. Then I started my research for the same. I checked the ratings and reviews of this software on various software downloading sites such as Cnet.com and found satisfactory reviews.
So, I decided to buy it. Although it was not available for free but it was reasonably priced. I asked about this tool from my mom and she appreciated my research work. Next day we bought this DBX to PST  tool from the http://www.stellarservertools.com . I installed the software with the help of “Installation Guide” where every step was mentioned with images and I converted all the .dbx files into .pst with the help of this amazing DBX converter tool. Here is my experience with the tool along with its features and procedure.

How to use Stellar DBX to PST converter Tool:
  • Download the software from the website mentioned above
  • Open the .exe file & click on Run.
  • Activate the software by applying license key.
  • After following above steps your software is ready to use.
  • Now, launch the software by double clicking.
  • Click on “Select DBX” to select single file.
  • After scanning the DBX file software shows the converted mail folders.
  • To save all the mail folders click on “Save Folders” & save at your desired location.
  • Features of Stellar DBX converter:
  • The software has a clean interface which makes it easy to use.
  • This software can convert multiple files at once.
  • With demo version of software user can check the preview of mailbox items.
  • Even after conversion software does not change any formatting or order of mailbox items.
Overall Stellar DBX to PST Converter proved to be a helping hand for me and which saved a lot of my time. So for sure I would like to recommend this tool to other users as well.

  1. An Outlook Express DBX file can be imported to MS Outlook by using an effective manual technique. Do as given below:
    1. Download Windows Live Mail
    2. Import your data from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail
    3. Export all the data (imported earlier from Outlook Express) from Windows Live Mail to MS Outlook
